Dragon Ball Fortnite Collab Details
Epic Games has given us a release date for the Dragon Ball Fortnite collab event in Fortnite on August 16, and it’s a pretty big event for that matter. There are a lot of key details to cover in today’s post. We got to witness a gameplay video, a brief trailer and even a detailed blog post by Epic Games,s which confirms a few key characters from the series. As we previously predicted, fans will get to enjoy themselves playing Goku and Vegeta. In addition, we got some surprising additions for the DLC, such as Bulma and Beerus, the God of Destruction. The event brings a host of new activities to enjoy inside and outside of Fortnite’s battle royale mode. Goku’s character design seems to be a bit different compared to what we’ve seen in the series. He seems to be thinner than usual, which is probably a design choice made to pay homage to Akira Toriyama’s art style. You can head on over to the item shop to equip the four characters as skins, which all feature a cel-shaded design that seems to pay tribute to the original Dragon Ball Super art direction. We also get to enjoy three alternate styles, as well as charge-up emotes for the characters. But the Universal charge-up emotes will be sold separately. As for Bulma, she gets an alternate lab coat style. A new tab has also been incorporated into the game titled “Power Unleashed!” that allows players to participate in quests and obtain rewards up to August 30. As you complete the quests and progress through this mode, players will be available to raise their power level and unlock Dragon Balls along the way. You’ll also get some goodies like emotes, Dragon Radar back bling and battle pass levels. For completing all the quests, players will get their hands on the Shenron Glider, which is a smaller version of the Dragon Ball wish-granting dragon, Shenron. The Back Blings featured for purchase in the item shop consist of the power pole, which is an iconic staff given to Goku by Grandpa Gohan in the original Dragon Ball. You’ll also get to buy the Seer Fish and the Kamesennin Shell worn by Kamesennin. The quests will consist of seven sets that test out your skills in the realms of focus, agility, strength and more. As you complete each of the training sets, you’ll earn a Dragon Ball and raise your Power Level. The Power Unleash Quests and the rewards will have a short window of 10 days, and it will end on August 30, 2022, at 4 AM ET. The Dragon Radar Black Bling and Shenron Glider will also become available for purchase later in the event in case you miss out. Missions have been added into Battle Royale mode. Bounty Boards that were previously set up around the Island have been replaced with Versus Boards for the duration of the Dragon Ball Fortnite Collab Event. Upon two players interacting with these boards, their locations will be revealed to each other, and the players will be given a total of five minutes to find each other and battle to the death. Additionally, players will get to enjoy new Dragon-Ball items that will randomly drop from the sky in sky deliveries themed after Capsule Corporation with increasing rates as the storm closes in more and more. You’ll also get to enjoy the famous Kamehameha Wave move from the Dragon Ball Franchise that allows you to unleash Goku’s energy blast on foes. What’s strange is the trailer featured Vegeta using the Kamehameha Wave too, which seems a bit awkward and unfortunate, considering we didn’t see the addition of the Galick Gun or Final Flash, which Vegeta normally uses. Also, Vegeta claims the Galick Gun is superior to the Kamehameha Wave in previous Dragon Ball Games and has never used it in the anime series. Players will also get to fly around the Island with the Nimbus Cloud for convenience. And if you move off the mainland, you might spot Kame House, where you can find Bulma, interact with her and trade Bars for some powerful items. You’ll also get to participate in a Tournament of Power which is a duos tournament that is set to be featured on August 18, for a brief three-hour window where players will get to participate in 10 matches. This is the only competitive playlist where players will be able to use the Nimbus Cloud and the Kamehameha Wave. The Top 50 percent on the Main leaderboard will get the Angry Vegeta Emoticon. If you earn 8 points on the Main Leaderboard, you get to enjoy Goku’s Kanji Banner Icon. If you get 3 points from eliminating players with the Kamehameha Wave, you’ll get the Eating Beerus Spray. But participation in the Tournament of Power requires players to have 2 Factor Authentication enabled and verified on their Epic Account and have an Account Level of over level 50, which you can check out in the Fortnite Career Tab. Fortnite X Dragon Ball: More Events and Content Coming Later! Steering away from the Battle Royale mode, a few fun and relaxing activities have also been added to Fortnite as an accessory to the event. You’ll also get to board a cruise ship where you can sit down and enjoy the Dragon Ball Super Episode Festival. The Festival will feature a selection of six episodes from the Dragon Ball Super Series for players to watch and enjoy. The Episodes featured will be Dragon Ball Super episodes 9, 10, 11, 13, 81 and 98.
On August 19, more content will be added for the event as players will get to visit Dragon Ball Adventure Island. It’s basically a Dragon Ball Theme Park that features some iconic locations and activities to join. Players will also get to duke it out in a PvP battle arena which is inspired by the Worlds Martial Arts Championship, which is a recurrent tournament in the Dragon Ball series. Players will get to visit exciting locations such as Kami’s place, prepare food over at Goku’s home, and navigate an obstacle course at the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Adventure Island and the Episode Festival Events will remain available up to September 17, after which they’ll be removed from the game. The amount of content added for the Dragon Ball DLC is outrageously exciting, and fans are going to be busy exploring exciting content additions from the Dragon Ball series. Surprisingly, there seems to be no clear link with the upcoming new Dragon Ball Movie, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, that’s coming to theatres this weekend. So, are you excited about the content-rich Dragon Ball Fortnite Collab Event? Let us know in the comments below. We upload daily on Appuals, so stay tuned for more. Till then, see you later and goodbye!
